Ray Peña

Founder and CEO, CloudRise Technology

Ray Peña has over 35 years of experience in planning, management, design, programming and development of information systems, including data center operations/Information Systems (IS) administration, as well as consulting, sales and marketing, and client support activities. Ray’s solid business background is combined with a detailed understanding of the financial, banking, telecommunications and health-care industries. This solid business understanding leads to excellence in database design, the foundation of any effective application.

Additionally, Ray offers a unique hands-on familiarity with current client-server architectures, Web environments, SQL, object-orientation, network computing and graphical interfaces, various programming languages, as well as older legacy environments. His comprehensive knowledge of technical issues across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms ranges from PC's to mainframes.

Prior to founding CloudRise, Ray was the Vice President, Technical Planning for Bank of America. He has also worked for Crocker National Bank, the Information Systems Division of American Hospital Supply Corporation and predecessor banking and hospital software companies. His professional consulting experience includes project assignments for Wells Fargo, Concentric Network, Crowley Maritime Corporation, County of Marin, Hospital Resource Control as well as a number of other businesses such as a San Francisco East Bay paging company, a leading Silicon Valley technology lender, a national retailer and a major national telecommunications provider.

Ray Peña has designed, developed and implemented numerous large-scale enterprise applications, as well as other custom systems in the areas of banking, finance, business operations, workflow, human resources and staffing, hospital accounting and asset and inventory management.

David McHugh

Vice President

David McHugh brings to CloudRise over 35 years of experience of working with business users to realize their software application needs. He has extensive experience in strategic information planning, business problem definition, automation requirements analysis, implementation planning, systems and project management, and systems installation management.

For the past 16 years, David has consulted in the technology field with business in many industries and of various sizes. He has an excellent ability to understand business problems and formulate effective solutions, and an ability to learn quickly, focus on key issues, clearly define objectives and meet deadlines with high quality. Prior to that David held management positions at Crocker National Bank and World Savings and Loan.

David has strong management and communications skills, an excellent record of motivating and leading people to produce positive results. He also has strong staff development and teaching skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.

David holds a B.A. in Public Administration from Sacramento State University. He has served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations.
